From the depths, we emerge... slowly

Well, the last post was June 15th. The week following was the birthday/father's day-a-thon for our family (Meri, myself, Nate etc.) The week following that was my Thursday to Thursday work-a-thon. An 8 day stretch that melted right into the 4th of July weekend. Yesterday and today, we are all recovering. Ella was sick by my 5th or 6th day working since she was in childcare. (She hardly ever is, so it is sort of inevitable). By Monday following the fourth, with all of us running on less-than-normal sleep, my throat started to feel a bit strange. By the time I laid down that night, my throat was on-fire and Isaac had a 104 degree temp. Yesterday, Nate rescued me and took the day off work. He told their office manager, "When mom is sick, the whole place shuts down" to which she just laughed and said she totally understood. This morning it is nearly dark as night with a huge thunderstorm rolling through. (Who from the midwest can't help but love the summer storms). The baby is sleeping a really long time (thank goodness) and we have a clear schedule (well, except for the rather expensive week long summer camp at the kids museum that Isaac will miss yet another day of - sigh). Hot tea is steeping to get my throat up and running, Curious George is keeping little man pre-occupied and we are all getting slowly underway.

A week later I read this...
Everyone better? Your throat? Chris came down with strep the 4th and his throat is just now getting better. Yuck.
